Altar policromado e dourado dedicado à Anunciação a Nossa Senhora.
O episódio que conta o anúncio pelo Arcanjo Gabriel à Virgem Maria de que esta seria a Mãe de Jesus, merece destaque no nicho central do andar superior. A cena é representada com a Virgem de joelhos recolhida, recebendo a mensagem trazida pelo Arcanjo e rematada por uma pomba, que simboliza o Espírito Santo, envolta num resplendor de talha dourada. “O Espírito Santo descerá sobre ti, e o poder do Altíssimo te cobrirá com a sua sombra. Por isso, aquele que vai nascer será chamado santo, Filho de Deus” (Lucas, 1:35).
Para além da Anunciação, encontramos esculturas de São Miguel Arcanjo e São João Evangelista (no corpo superior) e de São Gonçalo (ao centro, em baixo), ladeado por Santo André (esquerda) e São João Baptista (direita).
Este retábulo é o primeiro da fase rococó da Igreja, estilo presente nos motivos com desenho de falsa simetria, concheados e linhas sinuosas, apresentando ainda alguns pormenores do estilo barroco joanino, presente no retábulo que lhe faz frente na outra nave lateral (Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Escravos).
A mesa de altar é já posterior, manifestando a estética do período neoclássico.

The episode that tells of the Archangel Gabriel’s announcement to the Virgin Mary that she would be the mother of Jesus deserves to be depicted in the central niche of the upper tier. The scene is depicted with the Virgin Mary on her knees, receiving the message brought by the Archangel and crowned by a dove, symbolising the Holy Spirit, surrounded by a gilt aureole. “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be holy; he will be called Son of God.” (Luke 1:35).
In addition to the Annunciation, devotional motifs on the altarpiece today include sculptures of St. Michael the Archangel and St. John the Evangelist on the second tier, and on the lower tier, St. Gonçalo in the centre flanked by St. Andrew on the left and St. John the Baptist on the right.
This was the first of the Rococo altarpieces in this church, a style evidenced by the asymmetrical motifs, shells and sinuous lines. It also has some details of the Joanine Baroque style, present in the altarpiece of Our Lady of the Rosary of the Slaves opposite it in the other lateral nave.
The same is true of the altar table, which incorporates Neoclassical aesthetics.
